AT&T Looks to Drop Landline Business

One in five people in the United States has a mobile phone and no landline phone. One in five people in the United States has a landline and no mobile phone. These people need to move into the 21st century. AT&T has indicated to the Federal Communications Commission that it would like to exit the landline business.  Supporting the dwindling number of landline subscribers is no longer a very profitable business for the major carriers who are now more interested in mobile, television, and high speed internet.
