DGDM Introduces YuDeal.com
Today’s blog post is about an exciting young company in the text message marketing space.
Imagine you are in the sales department of a professional minor league hockey team. Game time is only five hours away and you don’t have a very attractive opponent tonight; in fact, your opponent is in last place. That, plus the fact that tonight’s game is competing with some major college football bowl games.
You are sitting on a bundle of tickets — 3000 empty seats to be exact. How do you get rid of them on such short notice?
The answer may be the flagship product of DGDM called YuDeal. YuDeal integrates many of the major social networking sites such as Facebook, My Space, and Twitter with discount coupons to offer real time on the fly discounts.
Those hockey tickets you have for tonight? Offer half price for them to your targeted audience on social networking sites and through your existing database of fans. And, watch the walk-up traffic come in for tonight’s game against that last place team.
YuDeal is actually the brainchild of former Western Carolina University student Isaac Roberts. Roberts was looking for a way to bring his idea to fruition when he received $12,500 from friends and family and incorporated under 4gDeals Inc. This seed capital helped get 4gDeals off the ground.
At the request of a professor, Roberts entered his concept in a business competition called the Wise Challenge. The winning team was awarded a cash prize and wouldn’t you know it, Roberts’ company won first place.
After attracting attention from a private investor group, Roberts agreed to take the company public. 4gDeals is now wholly owned by Digital Development Partners and is traded on the bulletin board over-the-counter stock exchange under the symbol DGDM.
The mobile marketing industry is not without innovative ideas like the one known as YuDeal.com. The key to success for any mobile marketing company, however, is execution of the product and service. YuDeal is one company that the Mobile Marketing Blog will be following closely in the future.
